The Buoy Group CDs

During the course of its operations the OSU Buoy Group produced a number of CDs that contained current meter records and data from other types of moored instruments - temperature recorders, CTD recorders, meteorological stations, etc. Two of the CDs are still available and can be obtained free of charge.

The Deep Water Archive
This disk is essentially a copy of the "Quick Search" portion of this website. It contains principally current meter but also other types of records gathered over the years from many sources. The criteria for inclusion were that the mooring arrays be in place for at least 6 months, and in deep water - i.e., beyond the continental shelves. The disk contains as a subset nearly all of the WOCE Eulerian current records.

The Buoy Group Archive
Here we have collected data gathered during the OSU Buoy Group's own experiments. Much of it was recorded over the Pacific continental shelves of North and South America. Some of the earlier records (from the mid and late 60's) are only a few weeks in length; the more recent time series are up to 2.5 years in length. Both shallow and deep water records are included. There is some overlap between this disk and the Deep Water Archive.

The disks are available free of charge. Just sent a message to this site's webmaster. Both disks have an HTML format. You access them by opening them with a web browser and following links.
